A memorial fund established in honor of Dr. Darryl Powell, a Perelman graduate and passionate physician who worked to enhance care for sickle cell disease patients and improve racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in healthcare. Provides $2,000 for mentored research and scholarly projects addressing sickle cell disease, Philadelphia public health, advancement of underrepresented minorities in medicine, and racial disparities in medicine.
